Microsoft has announced a price increase (the first significant price increase in almost a decade) starting on March 1, 2022. This will impact any renewals or new subscriptions on or after March 1, 2022.
Below is a sampling of the new price increases for popular SKUs
Product | Current Price | March 1, 2022 |
Microsoft 365 Business Basic | $5 | $6 |
Microsoft 365 Business Premium | $20 | $22 |
Office 365 E1 | $8 | $10 |
Office 365 E3 | $20 | $23 |
Office 365 E5 | $35 | $38 |
Microsoft 365 E3 | $32 | $36 |
The price increase does not appear to impact the following 4 SKUs
Product | Price |
---|---|
Microsoft 365 Business Standard | $12.50 |
Microsoft 365 E4 | $57 |
Microsoft 365 F1 | $2.25 |
Microsoft 365 F3 | $8 |
There are no planned price changes for education and consumer products. (At least at this time)
One silver lining to this news is Microsoft will be offering unlimited $0 Audio Conferencing dial-in for the following SKUs.
Enterpise | Small & Medium Business |
---|---|
Microsoft 365 E3 | Microsoft 365 Business Basic |
Office 365 E3 | Microsoft 365 Business Standard |
Office 365 E1 | Microsoft 365 Business Premium |
Microsoft 365 F3 | |
Microsoft F1 | |
Office 365 | |
(E5 suites already have audio conferencing capabilities) |
Microsoft is quick to note that they are not increasing prices because of the addition of Audio Conferencing. Extending unlimited dial-in access is simply the latest example of “how we deliver new value to support the changing needs of our customers” (quoted directly from Microsoft).
